Vyasapuja 2008 in Sri Dham Pandharpur.
On the most auspicious Deva-Asayani Ekadasi, Gurudeva also had his 59th Vyasapuja celebrations which made this day completely transcendental. The celebrations was held in a nicely decorated Pandal on the bank of Chandra Bhaga river.
The Pandal was completely full and a soft breeze was blowing, moving the beautiful coloured cloth decorations in a very attractive way.
The Vyasapuja celebrations started with sraddhangali or offering of faith by disciples of H.H.Lokanath Swami. Almost 30 devotees read their offerings and several devotees offered new book releases and cd releases that they had been working very hard to finish for Gurudeva on this his very special day.
Ekalavya Prabhu was one of the devotees who got the privilege of reading his offering and he says: "After I read my offering I paid my obeisances at the lotus feet of Gurudeva. As I looked up into his face I saw such a loving smile on his lips and in his eyes and Gurudeva gave me a flower he had been holding in his hand.
He grapped my Sikha and tugged it in an affectionate way. I am so happy that I came for this Vyasa-Puja because these reciprocations are only possible by being personally present".
After the Sraddhangali there was Pancamrit Abhisekha, (bathing of Gurudevas feet). Five devotees conducted this most auspicious activity while Bhagavat Prabhu from Mumbai was sweetly singing Oh he Vaisnava Thakur.
Then Dharmaraja Prabhu lead the Puspanjali (flower offering) where the Gurupranama mantras for our Acaryas were chanted.
Then all the present Disciples offered Gurudeva a huge bhoga offering while Ekalavya Prabhu lead the kirtana and finally the Aratik to Gurumaharaja.
Then Gurumaharaja took a long time to just receive everyone who wanted to meet him and greet him. He spoke with friends and disciples from India and abroad who had come to celebrate him, and when he came back to the LOK Office Bhavan where he has his residence he was accompanied by a huge and fired up kirtana party.
It was a most sweet day which was complete with an evening boat festival where their Lordships Sri Sri Radha Pandharinath went sailing on the Chandra Bhaga river accompagnied by Gurudeva and all the present Vaisnavas.
More about these activities later time.
