Report of the visit of H.H. Lokanath Swami in Mauritius.

All glories to H.H. Lokanath Swami.
Mauritius was blessed by the arrival of Maharaj on Friday the 20th of June. Gurudeva landed around 8.45 am at SSR International Airport. There was an
urge crowd of devotees waiting very patiently to have the darsan of Gurudeva. The television news reporter MBC interviewed Maharaj. Then,
accompanied with devotees, Premananda Prabhu and Vamsidara Prabhu from India, Maharaj came outside where he met everyone.
Moreover Gurudeva proceeded to Phoenix temple to have the darsan of Sri Sri Radha Golokananda. Maharaj gave a small lecture and told "I am very happy with your grand reception at the airport. Besides, your country is small but your welcome is very big." Then there was a foot bathing ceremony followed by Guru Puja. In the evening Maharaj went for a program organised by the Marathi Association.

Bhagavat katha

Day 1, 21-06-2008
There was a big crowd of people who came to relish the nectar which was flowing from the mouth of Maharaj. The title of the katha was the Bhagavat
Mahatmya and Maharaj narrated the story of Bhakti Devi and her two sons Jnana and Vairagya. Narada Muni helped the two sons who were very old to get their youth back simply by narrating Srimad Bhagavatam. There was a nice drama based on the katha. Then, after the arati Maharaj went to the
residence of Venunath Prabhu, one of our Godbrothers.

Day 2, 22-06-2008
In the morning Maharaj did the Srimad Bhagavatam class at Sri Sri Krishna Balaram mandir at Bon Accueil in the east of the Island. The lecture was
based on how to conquer our own two enemies namely elder brother Mr lust and his younger brother Mr Anger. Then, Maharaj rocked the hall with ecstatic kirtan and all the devotees were dancing and singing. Afterwards Gurudeva told that I want my disciples to always chant and dance together and went for his breakfast to the house of Jayasri Mataji. In the evening Maharaj narrated the Gajendra Moksa lila, how the elephant prayed and offered a lotus flower to the Lord and finally the Lord took the elephant to His eternal abode. There was a nice drama based on the katha, followed by arati.

Day 3, 23-06-2008
Maharaj was busy during the day doing studio recordings for the new CD to be released on Vyasa Puja called Suddha Nama Rasa (Nectarean mellows).
Moreover, Maharaj arrived around 7:30 pm at the grand pandal where he was welcomed with garlands and flowers were thrown at the lotus feet of Maharaj. The katha was about Manu and the lifespan of Lord Brahma.

Day 4, 24-06-2008
This katha was based on the Sagar Manthan (churning of the milk ocean). At the end there was a drama based on the katha.

Day 5, 25-06-2008
On this day many people came to the katha. Maharaj spoke about the Darwin theory of evolution. He emphasized that we are not sons of monkeys but that we are sons of Lord Brahma.

Day 6, 26-06-2008
Todays katha was about Vamana lila. At the end of the katha there was a drama.

Day 7, 27-06-2008
This was the last day of the bhagavat katha. Many people were present and full prasadam was served to everybody. It was really a great festival on
this day as many people got to hear the nectar from Maharaj. A feedback form was distributed to the audience at the end of the katha. The television news reporter MBC was also present on this day to mark the presence of Maharaj and also many people. It is to be noted that for the first time Krishna
Balaram Mandir distributed at least one Bhagavatam set per day.

There was a grand Jagannath Ratha Yatra on the 28th which was organised by the sponsors of the Bhagavata katha, the Dosia family. Maharaj was busy with the recordings and around 5 pm Maharaj arrived and the urged crowd was eagerly waiting to hear the ecstatic kirtan from Gurudeva. Then, Maharaj
rocked the crowd with the melodies of the Hare Krsna Maha Mantra. The attendance was around 5000 people, which was never earlier in such a big
number, assembled in the Jagannath Yatra. There is no doubt that this happened because of the mercy of the Guru Maharaj.

The last day on the 29th was very disheartening because Maharaj was about to leave back to India. Before that Maharaj gave initiations in the Phoenix
temple in the presence of their Lordships Sri Sri Radha Golokananda. After, the initiation ceremony Maharaj quickly took his lunch and left for the
airport in a beautifully decorated car. At the airport Maharaj met with the assembled disciples. The atmosphere was very heavy and some were even crying in the separation of Maharaj and thus Maharaj very happily said 'Bye Bye' to the devotees. Thus ends the report on the visit of Maharaj in Mauritius. Please find attached a few photos.

Yours servant,
