When in Czech, Maharaj initiated two new disciples: Dina Dayala Dasa Brahmacari and Yoga Maya Devi Dasi. He also gave second initiation to Madhu Mangala Dasa Brahmacari. During the initiation lecture, Maharaj gave a perfect analogy as he stated that we soldiers of Lord Caitanya's army must always be alert in our fight with maya. We must remain prepared with our weapons. What is our weapon? The bead bag is our gun. Maharaj put his hand in the bead bag and pointed his index finger at the audience as if pointing a gun. He said, "The bullets (the japa mala beads) are inside."

In Den Haag, Netherlands, Maharaj spoke on the appearance of Lord Krsna to prepare devotees for the upcoming Sri Krsna Janmastami Festival. He
described how Vasudeva had complete faith in the Lord's instructions. It did not matter whether he was in a prison, completely bound by chains. If the
Lord wanted to be taken to Gokul, Vasudeva would serve the Lord having complete faith that the Lord would remove any obstacles in his path. And
just as he got up, the chains came off, the gates opened automatically (Maharaj pointed out that modern automatic doors are only imitations of this
5000 year old technology, which is actually the Lord's timeless potency), the extra security force guards of Kamsa were sound asleep, and even the
prison dogs were asleep and thus the dogs would not bark and wake up the guards upon seeing Vasudeva escaping. The river Yamuna parted to allow
Vasudeva to cross her to the other shore. In this way Maharaj encouraged all the devotees to stay fixed in their devotional service with firm faith in
the Lord even in the most difficult or impossible situation.
